La mujeres y los hombres

Cuando decidimos volver a editar unos libros de hace casi cuarenta años, pensamos que de los cuatro títulos de la serie quizá el más desfasado fuera el dedicado a las mujeres y los hombres, ya que desde 1978 se han producido muchos cambios y, por suerte, casi siempre para mejor. (Los lectores más mayores podrán comprobar ahora esos cambios leyendo este libro). Pese a todo, en 2015, las mujeres no sólo no disfrutan de muchos privilegios que parecen reservados a los hombres, sino que siguen sufriendo en todo el mundo grandes discriminaciones. Nadie puede tener ninguna duda de que mujeres y hombres somos iguales y tenemos los mismos derechos. Sólo con la educación podremos lograr ese mundo igualitario que ha de ser —para todos— un lugar mejor donde vivir.

When we decided to reissue books from almost forty years ago, we thought that of the four titles in the series, perhaps the most outdated was the one dedicated to women and men, since since 1978 there have been many changes and, luckily, almost always for the better. (Older readers will now be able to see those changes by reading this book.) In spite of everything, in 2015, women not only do not enjoy many privileges that seem reserved for men, but they continue to suffer great discrimination worldwide. No one can have any doubt that women and men are equal and have the same rights. Only with education can we achieve that egalitarian world that must be — for everyone — a better place to live.
