Position Title: Sales Development Coordinator– Children’s and YA Book Distribution

La libreria is a distribution company specializing in high-quality children’s and young adult books in Spanish language. We work with schools, libraries, literacy programs, and community organizations to promote literacy and a love of reading. Our mission is to promote the amazingly rich traditions of children’s literature in Spanish, the benefits of bilingualism, and the pleasure of reading, seeing, and feeling well written, beautifully illustrated books with a child.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Sales Development Coordinator (SDC) to join our team and support the growth of our sales and outreach efforts. This role blends organizational and communication skills to drive lead generation and customer engagement.

The SDC will be responsible for identifying new sales opportunities, qualifying leads, and guiding potential clients through the purchasing process—from the initial point of contact to closing the sale. This position plays a key role in relationship-building, streamlining communication, and expanding our customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify prospective clients, including schools, libraries, and literacy organizations
  • Build and maintain organized lead lists
  • Coordinate and support multi-channel outreach campaigns (email, phone, social media, and in-person)
  • Qualify leads by assessing client needs and recommending relevant product offerings
  • Prepare and deliver customized sales proposals and close sales
  • Represent the company at educational events and conferences
  • Assist in creating lead magnets and online forms to attract new clients (e.g., curated book lists, raffles, etc.)
  • To develop tailored proposals and effective follow-ups
  • Track and analyze lead generation metrics to improve outreach strategies
  • Travel to participate in conferences and events in California and other states

Qualifications:

  • Experience in sales, outreach, or marketing—ideally within the education or publishing sectors. We also welcome applications from teachers or librarians interested in transitioning to a new career path.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
  • A passion for children’s and young adult literature, literacy, and education. 
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and email platforms

Schedule and Compensation

  • 40 Hours per week
