Óscar Gatomaula no es lo que se dice un niño modelo. Detesta lavarse, llevar la ropa limpia y planchada, hacer los deberes y, por encima de todo, los mimos asfixiantes de una madre que sigue tratándolo como si fuera un bebé. A Óscar lo que le gusta que de verdad es leer cómics a escondidas, alborotar la clase de la señorita Ronroncilla con polvos picapica, jugar a fútbol con sus amigos y liarse a tortazos con ellos a la mínima. ¿Cómo mantener este papel de niño rebelde y curtido cuando en casa quieren que parezcas un gatito de postal y no paran de besuquearte? La crisis tendrá que estallar un día u otro, es inevitable. Y ese estallido, violento y doloroso, traerá la posibilidad de conciliar la personalidad revoltosa de Óscar con el amor materno, que encontrará formas de expresión menos invasivas.

Óscar Gatomaula is not what you would call a model child. He detests washing up, wearing clean and ironed clothes, doing his homework, and, above all, the suffocating pampering of a mother who continues to treat him as if he were a baby. What Óscar truly likes is reading comic books in secret, disrupting Miss Ronroncilla's class with itching powder, playing soccer with his friends, and getting into fistfights with them at the slightest provocation. How can he maintain this role of a rebellious, hardened kid when at home they want him to look like a postcard kitten and won't stop kissing him all over? The crisis is bound to explode sooner or later, it is inevitable. And that explosion, both violent and painful, will bring the opportunity to reconcile Óscar's mischievous personality with his mother's love, which will find less invasive forms of expression.
